The Flow of Imagination – Creativity
Creativity is the process of developing original ideas that have value. We are deeply afraid of creativity at times as it requires us to come up with something completely new that has not been done before. The mystical thing called creativity cannot just be summoned at will. Conditions have to be right to allow it to occur. At a fundamental level coming up with original ideas requires some risk taking and pattern recognition. When this happens, your brain will release dopamine (a pleasure chemical) and feel this rush of excitement, engagement and curiosity that drive our motivation for more. When you can’t process on autopilot, that’s when flow shows up. Flow acts a force multiplier for creativity. When we can create flow in our lives there is a powerful reciprocity: “creativity triggers flow; then flow enhances creativity accelerating the process known as a “freeride moment”. You need have a fierce commitment to your vision, you need to be willing to bet your ass on your idea. Starting a company is considered one of the riskiest and creative acts in business. What are you willing to risk for your dream? Creativity is your biggest risk that could lead to your biggest win!

Once you have purchased a HR monitor (HRM) now you need to find out how to use it effectively. Depending on your goals, you will need to train appropriately toward your goals. The first step in understanding how hard to train is determining your predicted max heart rate(PMHR). Generally based on some norms for age; the formula is 220 minus your age = PMHR. You may be more or less fit than the norms for your age, but this is a good place to start and insures you train safely and effectively. Many cardio machines have HR charts on them based on age and are generated based on this formula, and provide a basic guideline for training. As you progress and become more fit you will want to define this guideline more accurately for your current fitness. There are five target zones for training that you will use during training and are percentages of your PMHR.

These are not isolated instances, by a long shot. They are typical of thousands of critical reactions and processes in which nutrients are essential. Think about this: For almost every substance in our body, there is an essential nutrient that is needed to make it work right. If we don’t have enough of any one of them, a critical piece is missing, and things don’t work. Worse than “don’t work,” they fall apart.
