Conditions of Empowerment
Empowerment is the state of mind that compels you to act on your goals. Empowerment can’t be installed; it has to be developed. It is a matter of nurturing the conditions that create it. We don’t really empower other people, but create conditions and the environments in which they can empower themselves through the use of the four endowments they have developed. Create the environment for you to be successful at being healthy. Which of the following conditions are present in your life?

The conditions of empowerment:

  1. Trustworthiness – a function of character and competence.
  2. Trust – the glue that holds everything together. The best thing we can do to create trust is be trustworthy.
  3. Win-Win Agreements – For sustained success everyone involved has to take something positive away from your relationship with them. Work, Home, Community, and Self all need these win-win solutions. Success at the cost of one of the others, is not really success it is time management
  4. Self-Directing Individual/Teams – When you decide it is up to you for your success you will be empowered to take action.
  5. Aligned Structured Systems – If you say one thing but reward another with your actions, you are working against creating an environment to allow those around you to be empowered.
  6. Accountability – Until you have others to give you feedback and review your results your goals are just thoughts.
