Generosity: Your Candle Loses Nothing When It Lights Another
Nothing speaks to others more loudly or serves them better than generosity from a leader. True generosity isn’t an occasional event. it comes from the heart and permeates every aspect of a leader’s life, touching his time, money, talents, and possessions. Effective leaders, the kind that people want to follow, don’t gather things just for themselves; they do it to also give to others. Cultivate the quality of generosity in your life share what you have with others especially those in need.
1. Be grateful for whatever you have
2. Put people first
3. Don’t allow the desire for possessions control you
4. Regard money as a resource
5. Develop the habit of giving

Holiday Survival Tip #24 Quiet the Noise
With everything going on at this time of the year it can all get to be a bit much. We are bombarded with ads and requests for our time and money, our families need us and place demands on us as well, and work can be a mad dash for the end of the year sometimes. When it all seems overwhelming maybe it’s time to step back for a few minutes and take a deep breath. Sit in a quiet place and remember what the season is really all about. It’s about being with friends and family, co-workers, and others in a way that is real and authentic and sharing ourselves with each other. The parties are great, the gifts are appreciated, but it’s the people in our lives that make it rich. Take a moment in the bustle to stop and think about the people in our lives that make it worth living. Be with them with all of you and let them know you care, it’s the best gift to give and get.
