Celebrate the Survivors
As much as this ride is to respect and honor those lost to cancer, it is just as much a ride to celebrate the many survivors who are still with us. Taking on the challenge of your life like fighting off cancer will define you as a person. Forever you will be a cancer survivor, someone who has looked death in the face and won. The many great stories of people who were able to beat cancer always show the amazing courage it takes to just keep going on when things get incredibly hard. The families go through as much as the victims of cancer, the ups and downs, the not knowing what will happen next or whether they will have their loved one with them a year from now. The resilience it takes to beat cancer is amazing to see. On this ride called 24 Hours of Booty there always comes a time when I am ready to stop riding because I am tired, but I then think of those who are battling cancer and try to push on. The families dealing with cancer can’t call time out or get a replacement or just quit trying they must go on. We celebrate the ones who have won the fight with cancer so that others can see they can beat cancer too, and the resources we create with the funds raised give us a better chance for medicine to save more lives. Next time you are faced with a big challenge try and remember the courage it takes to face down cancer and win, and then push on! Those who have beaten cancer are special people with great inner strength that we can all learn from. Please help us and consider a donation to this event.
“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
Polar Smart Coaching Training Tip: Be the Instigator
Take your fitness commitment a step further and be the instigator. Be the one that gets it all going, the communicator, the organizer, the one who gets things to happen. Sometimes it takes a little while for things to catch on, don’t get discouraged, just keep instigating. All it takes in one person to make things happen sometimes. Most of the time the people you ask have wanted to do something for a while and you asking was all it took to get them engaged. Be the one to get it going, step out there and start it. Think of a story in your life where someone started something that is now huge, and all it took is one person to step up and get it going. #Instigate
