Join the Fight Against Cancer
Today we launch our 2017 campaign to support those in our community who are battling cancer. Each year for the last 10 years I have been supporting the fight against cancer here in Charlotte by riding in an event called 24 Hours of Booty. This year with the opening of our new facility called Kinetic Heights we have decided to play a much bigger role in this fight. In 2017 we will be a silver level sponsor of this event and provide much more support for this community. You are invited to our special event at our facility this Saturday to help us kick off this campaign. Saturday June 10, from 6-9 PM we will offer a special open play event at Kinetic Height to raise funds and awareness for the families coping with the effects of cancer. Come and check out our new facility and make a donation of $24 to come and play with us. 24 Foundation has had and amazing history of community building and charitable support for our cancer community in Charlotte and beyond. The work being done has had a profound positive impact on our city and we need your help to continue this very important work. You can support this work in several ways:
- You can come and join us for an evening of fun at our facility this Saturday. With a donation on Saturday directly to 24 Foundation (to support our fundraising drive to get a pass to play on our ropes course and ninja training course. Come and meet our special guest team from Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.
- Join our Kinetic Heights team and raise money in hour of some you know impacted by cancer.
- Make a donation of your choice to our Kinetic Heights fundraising drive. Make a check to 24 Foundation and drop it off or mail it to us at 5664 International Drive, Charlotte NC, 28270
Please consider joining us in this very big fight against cancer. There are very few families that have not been impacted by cancer, consider a donation in honor of someone in your life impacted by cancer so other family can get the help they need to beat cancer.
Polar Smart Coaching Training Tip: Accountability Means Keeping Score
Keeping a personal journal helps you clarify and give solid expression to vague thoughts and feelings and increase your understanding to help separate the important from the trivial in your interactions with others. Keeping a personal journal can increase your determination to accomplish your goals. Tracking your progress will add accountability to your plan for a healthier you. Your will to succeed has to be reinforced every day. Journaling has proven to be an effective tool to give you feedback, create positive self-talk, and keep you focused on the goal. Our Online Fitness Challenges are designed to give you a community to plug into to share, hold each other accountable, and track your activity and nutrition.
Performance Nutrition Tip: Snack/Energy Bridge: Snacks are used to fill in between meals to provide sustained energy throughout the day. Balanced snacks keep your nutritional balance in check and keep you insulin levels low to curb the cravings. I use Clif bars, bananas, and other fruits, raw almonds and other nuts. Smaller more frequent meals/snacks reduce overeating and keep a steady energy level all day.
And of course, drink 1-2 liters of water daily!
