Jim was born and raised in Enfield Connecticut one of four children born to Ken and Fernande Guimond. Graduating with honors from Enfield High School 1978 and lettering 3 years at wrestling (elected Team Captain).

Served 4.5 in the US Air Force (E-4) until honorably being discharged in 1982.
Achieved Honor Graduate Status, and completed Leadership Training program at boot camp. Serving as a site development specialist, performing bomb damage assessment and reconstruction planning, airfield repair, and rapid deployment construction team.

Graduated USAF Community College – Associates Degree in Civil Engineering

Residing in Portsmouth, NH.
Joined American Land Development firm 1983. Working as a site coordinator for all condominium and industrial properties.
Preparing working drawings and site surveying duties, as well as onsite construction management.
Joined NH Soil Consultants in 1985. Working as a senior project manager, lead designer for community sewage disposal systems, soil mapping, site layout, and team training duties.NH Dept. of Environmental Services, Water Supply & Pollution Control Division Designer of Subsurface Disposal Systems No. 933

Started ProDraftics Professional Design/Engineering Consultant firm 1987. Performed custom home design, site preparation, sewage disposal system design-permitting-installation, Construction Management. Specializing in Pressurized Distribution Systems for Sewage Disposal, Super Insulated/Solar Home Design, and Soil Testing and Mapping Services.

Began teaching Step Aerobics group exercise classes at Portsmouth YMCA 1987. Competed as a AAU All Natural Body Builder NH1990 State Championships 4th Place.

Began cycling competitions racing as a Category 5 competitor 1989.

Moved to Charlotte NC 1991
Joined Barrier Building Systems company 1991. Worked as a Site Development Project manager for an Operational Maintenance Service (OMS) facility for the NC National Guard, Project Manager for clinic renovation at Cannon Memorial Hospital (now Northeast Medical).

Joined The Tower Athletic Club 1993 as a part-time group exercise instructor.
